Lord Tyler of Linkinhorne
Lord Paul Tyler has been a Member of the House of Lords since 2005, with previous experience in journalism, public affairs and environmental campaigning.
Briefly elected a Liberal MP in 1974 (with majority of 9 votes), he returned to Parliament as Liberal Democrat MP for North Cornwall in 1992, and served as the party’s Chief Whip and then Shadow Leader of the Commons.
Paul is actively involved in two commissions seeking better Parliamentary relationships with the media and the public. He was the convenor of cross-party group preparing a draft Bill for the democratic reform of the Lords in 2005 and is currently Liberal Democrat spokesman on constitutional reform.
