Speakers’ Corner Trust is looking for a Trustee aged between 18 – 30 years who can bring a fresh, new perspective to our work.

Founded in 2007, the small organisation is entering a new phase and looking to use research, education, and campaigning to ensure we can all enjoy opportunities to become active citizens through freedom of expression and public debate. Role purpose
You will work with fellow Trustees to shape, drive and monitor the Trust’s strategy. Trustees are responsible for preparing for and participating in Board meetings, acting appropriately in decision-making and in their leadership of the charity. Each Trustee is plays a vital part in ensuring the proper management and administration of the charity. We recognise that we need to bring different and more diverse voices and perspectives to our decision making, and that our Board needs to represent the diversity and interests of all citizens more closely. We are keen to expand our use of social media and digital events in order to engage with more people. So we are looking for a Trustee with digital know-how too.
Person specification
- Possessing a genuine interest in and commitment to the aims of the charity.
- Having the ability to think and contribute an independent and creative perspective
- Working effectively as a member of a small team and making decisions for the good of the charity.
- The willingness to take a lead on new projects where appropriate.
You must be at least 18 years old to be a charity Trustee and you will be joining a small board of three experienced members. We are recruiting for potential, therefore learning in the role is expected, and we will support you in this by providing mentoring and an induction buddy from the Board. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and areas of England.
